Children ages 11 and older who are able to receive care in a less restrictive setting may benefit from North Spring Behavioral Healthcare’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The goal of the Partial Hospitalization Program is to achieve and/or maintain each patient’s medical stability and minimize impairments contributing to maladaptive behaviors (i.e. dysfunctional, non-productive behaviors that function as coping mechanisms for anxiety, depression or other issues). Finally, we strive to teach patients cognitive or coping skills related to mental health and/or substance abuse treatment focus areas, like anger management and pro-social skills.
This program provides a trauma-informed, positive structured environment and utilizes an American Society of Addictive Medicine (ASAM)-based medical model designed to implement conservative medication management, brief cognitive and behavioral interventions (such as verbal redirection, praise and encouragement), and positive reinforcement within the context of empirically verified treatment methodologies.
Services include at least six hours of the following each day:
Therapeutic services are overseen by a medical practitioner and are delivered through a variety of modalities, including:
Youth ages 11 and older may participate in one of our Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Call us for a confidential, no-cost assessment to determine which program may be the right fit for your child.
When young patients need intensive therapy to treat substance abuse disorders in an outpatient setting, North Spring Behavioral Healthcare is here to help. We offer a Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to help patients maintain stability, minimize maladaptive behaviors (i.e. turning to drugs or alcohol to cope with emotional or behavioral issues), and learn coping, anger management and improved social skills.
We offer a range of services to patients and their families, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, consultation, treatment, prevention and community education.
North Spring Behavioral Healthcare’s Substance Abuse IOP provides substance abuse disorder services in a trauma-informed, positive and structured environment, using evidence-based treatments in a group setting.
The goal of North Spring Behavioral Healthcareʼs Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program is to help children and their families feel secure during involvement in our program. Our staff will work with the patient to decrease the symptoms that have been causing behaviors that are significantly impacting the child’s ability to be successful in their home, school or community.
The Mental Health IOP’s services include assessment, treatment planning and therapy groups offered by a licensed or license-eligible clinician under supervision to address mental health issues.
At North Spring Behavioral Healthcare, we make it our mission to help children and adolescents find a sense of hope and potential. Call 703-554-6300 for a no-cost, confidential assessment day or night, 24/7. If you need immediate medical assistance, contact 911 or seek the nearest emergency room.
